Bill banning Memorial Day payments passes initial reading
A bill forbidding people to charge money for participating in Memorial Day ceremonies organized by public bodies passed a preliminary reading in the Knesset.
MK Moshe Matalon (Yisrael Beiteinu), who initiated the bill, said "it is hard to believe legislation is required to ban payments for participation in Memorial Day ceremonies, which are at the core of the Zionist ethos." (Moran Azulay)
