Rabbis cancel Beit Shemesh protest
Beit Shemesh rabbis called off a demonstration scheduled for Thursday evening inprotest of the removal of signs calling for segregation between men and women on city sidewalks.
Haredi sources noted that the protest was cancelled due to the sensitive timing, and the media's inclination to link the struggle over the signs with the violent acts perpetrated against female students in the city. (Kobi Nachshoni)
