Three explosions struck the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri shortly after Muslim Friday prayers, but caused no casualties, the military said, and gunmen shot dead three members of a cleric's family dead in a separate incident.
Maiduguri lies at the epicentre of a low level insurgency by Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which has been blamed for waves of bombings and shootings, including a Christmas Day bomb at a Catholic church that killed at least 37 people. (Reuters)
