PM to rethink judge selection committee bill

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to accept the Likud faction members' recommendation to rethink a bill that proposes to restructure the judge selection committee. The Likud ministers, who met to discuss the law proposal, all expressed staunch opposition to the measure.

The controversial legislation proposes to allow the Bar Association to elect only one member to serve on the commission. The Knesset approved the bill in second and third readings on Monday. (Attila Somfalvi)
