Barak to ask PM to hold meeting on Judicial Selection Committee bill

Defense Minister Ehud Barak will ask Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold another government discussion on the Judicial Selection Committee bill, Barak's office said. Earlier, Netanyahu said that he will rethink putting the legislation up for a government vote.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein reiterated his opposition for the initiative, which proposes to allow the Bar Association to appoint just one representative to the committee. If If passed, the bill will unseat the association members currently serving on the committee. (Attila Somfalvi)
