IDF: Soldiers prohibited from leaving events where women sing

The IDF General Staff Forum has decided to adopt the recommendations of a committee that examined the issue of women's singing in the army.

The commission, headed by IDF Personnel Directorate Chief Major-General Orna Barbivai, asserted that soldiers should not be allowed to leave an official event where women are invited to perform. However, commanders will be authorized to excuse religious soldiers from cultural events that feature such performances. (Yoav Zitun)
