Born to Freedom shuts down due to defense budget cuts

The Born to Freedom Foundation, which works to obtain information on missing Israeli soldiers, said that it has suspended its activity due to the Defense Ministry's decision to cut its funding.

The group said in a statement that the budget was cut despite a Knesset subcommittee recommendation to postpone the measure by six months. The group said it was unfortunate the ministry decided to shut it down due to a budget issue, without recognizing its efforts to keep the Israeli public aware of the missing and captive soldiers.
