Shas to oppose lateral government cutbacks

Interior Minister Eli Yishai announced that the Shas faction will oppose the lateral cutbacks that are expected to be imposed on the government's ministries.

"At this time we should increase the deficit instead of harming the social services and housing ministries and compromising the funds granted to local authorities, which hurts Israel's residents," he said. (Omri Efraim)
