Syrian official: Assad received financial aid from Iran

The chief supervisor of Syria's central agency for financial control, Mahmoud Suleiman Alhaj Hamed, announced in an interview with Al-Jazeera that he has defected from President Bashar Assad's government.

 

The official said that the Syrian regime has allocated 2 billion Syrian pounds to finance "Assad's gangs." He noted that Syria's economy is in shambles and the regime wasforced to receive aid from Iran and Assad's cousin, Rami Makhlouf. (Roi Kais)
