HCJ rejects petition against 'Nakba law'

None

The High Court of Justice has rejected a petition filed against the "Nakba law." The "Nakba law" requires the state to fine local authorities and other state-funded bodies for holding events marking the Palestinian Nakba Day by supporting armed resistance or racism against Israel, or desecrating the state flag or national symbols.

Chief Justice Dorit Beinish ruled that "the petition raises important and fundamental questions and issues, however the law has yet to be set in motion by the Treasury minster, and there is no way of knowing whether the law will by applied against the petitioners and under what circumstances."
