MK Kirshenbaum slams chief rabbi over Tzohar bill

MK Faina Kirshenbaum (Yisrael Beiteinu) slammed Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger for asking Knesset members to oppose the Tzohar bill, saying that "The Knesset is still the legislative body in the State of Israel, not the Chief Rabbinate."

Kirshenbaum said that the bill, which aims to allow couples to register for marriage wherever they choose, is "good news to couples." She promised to demand that the bill be soon passed along to the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee. (Kobi Nahshoni)
