Turkey: Ex-military chief questioned over plot
Turkey's state-run news agency says a prosecutor has demanded that a former military chief be taken into custody for allegedly attempting to destabilize Turkey's Islamic-rooted government through an Internet campaign.
Anadolu Agency says Thursday's decision came after Gen. Ilker Basbug testified in a case in which the military is alleged to have funded websites aimed at discrediting Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government in 2009. (AP)
