Arab League: Mashaal aided talks with Syria

Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashal transferred a telegram to Syrian President Bashar Assad on behalf of Arab League head Nabil al-Arabi, the London-based Arabic newspaper al-Hayat reported.
On Friday al-Arabi told a press conference that Mashaal had a key role in convincing Assad to allow Arab monitors into Syria as part of the effort to curb the raging violence there. (Elior Levy)
