Lebanon's official news agency reported Tuesday that Israeli fighter jets dropped an unidentified object in a ravine running between the towns of Houla and Tallouse in the Arab country's southern region.

According to the report, the Lebanese army was unable to inspect the object because the area was littered with unexploded cluster bombs allegedly dropped there by the IDF during its war with Hezbollah in 2006.
A month ago the Shiite group claimed that an IDF drone tried to destroy an Israeli "espionage facility" that had been exposed in south Lebanon. However, sources in Lebanon said the explosion was related to Hezbollah's activity in the area and was not the result of an Israeli strike.
Hezbollah said in a statement that it "has thwarted an Israeli spy operation by uncovering a wireless device in a valley between the towns of Srifa and Deir Kifa."
The terror group claimed that after the device was exposed, "the Zionist enemy bombed it with a drone. No operative was hurt."
