Al Hayat: Israel sanctions PA; Abbas' movements restricted
Israel has imposed sanctions on the Palestinian Authority in response to its UN statehood bid last September, the al-Hayat newspaper reported.
According to the report, the sanctions include a cessation in issuing free-movement passes to senior Palestinian officials, including Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas. The report further noted that Israel would impose sanctions on any senior Palestinian official who would discuss Jerusalem, settlements or the UN bid in the media. (Elior Levi)
