Chief economist fired over 'racial remarks'

Excellence Investment House chief economist Shlomo Maoz was fired Wednesday following remarks he made during a conference in Sapir College, calling Bank Leumi "a white people's bank."

The investment house issued a statement saying: "In light of Maoz' rude and inappropriate remarks, his position in the investment company has been terminated. Excellence renounces his statement." (Tani Goldstein)
