UN staff member abducted in Yemen

The United Nations says a staff member working in Yemen has been abducted. UN deputy spokesman Eduardo del Buey confirmed the abduction in response to a question Monday but refused to provide any details about the staffer or where in Yemen the abduction took place.
Del Buey told reporters: "A UN staff member has been taken. We are in communications. We are in negotiations, and you'll understand if we don't make any public comments on it." (AP)
