IDF attaché convicted of promoting Swiss arms dealer

The Tel Aviv District Court has sentenced Shmuel Avivi, who served as an IDF attaché in Switzerland, to three months of community service after convicting him of breach of trust. Avivi was also fined NIS 70,000.
The former IDF colonel was indicted for promoting the business of a Swiss arms dealer within the Israel Aerospace Industry in return for benefits. A bribery charge was stricken from the indictment as part of a plea bargain. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
