FBI shuts down Megaupload.com; charges 7 with piracy
One of world's largest file-sharing sites, Megaupload.com, was shut down by the FBI. Seven company workers were indicted for piracy.
The indictment alleges that the website caused an estimated half-billion dollars in copyright losses and made an estimated $175 million in proceeds. (Ehud Kenan, news agencies)
