Palestinian parliamentary speaker, Hamas member Aziz Dweik, said he was detained by Israel on Thursday as part of the effort to hurt Palestinian unity.
In a statement released by his lawyer, Dweik said the arrest was also aimed at preventing the Legislative Council, which he heads, from convening in early February. (Elior Levy)
