US: Reports over Russia's combat jet deal with Syria 'concerning'

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland addressed reports that Russia has signed a contract to sell combat jets to Syria, saying that if it's true, "it would be quite concerning" and would be raised by US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, who is in Moscow.

"As we've been saying for months, you know, our firm belief is that any country that is still trading in weapons and armaments with Syria really needs to think twice because they are on the wrong side of history," Nuland said. (AP)
