UN rights chief: Government can stop Syria killing
The UN's top human rights official says authorities in Syria can stop further deaths in the 10-month-old uprising by issuing an order for security forces to cease fire.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay says at least 5,400 people have been killed since March but recent figures are difficult to come by because some areas including parts of Homs are now "completely closed" to the outside world. (AP)
