Mashaal arrives in Jordan, expected to meet with King Abdullah

Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal has arrived in Jordan accompanied by Qatar's crown prince, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani. The two were greeted by Prince Hussein, the son of Jordan's King Abdullah.

Mashaal is expected to stay in Jordan several days and meet with the king, prime minister and intelligence chief. This is his first official visit to the kingdom since the Hamas leadership was expelled in 1999. (Elior Levy)
