Gantz: Commanders have sole authority
IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz met with Hesder yeshiva and religious pre-army academy heads to clarify that the commanders in the IDF have sole authority within their units, whereas the halachaic authority belongs to the chief military rabbi.
Gantz explained that he has also instructed not to permit soldiers to walk out on events in which there are female singers, unless they are cultural events. (Yoav Zitun)
