Ministers on removal of settlements from national priority: US Pressure

Cabinet ministers have come out against a decision to remove settlements from the national priority areas list. The decision was made in a phone-in vote just one day after the cabinet approved a list that included 70 settlements beyond the 1967 borders.

The ministers said the decision was connected to the visit of UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in Israel. One minister said: "The Americans must have seen it and exerted pressure to change the decision." (Attila Somfalvi)
