The IDF unit that left a soldier behind in the Palestinian village of Budrus is part of the 188th Barak Armored Brigade, Ynet has learned. The formerly captive soldier Gilad Shalit served on the same brigade when he was taken hostage in 2006.
The forgotten soldier served alongside the brigade's commander as a signal operator. He lost contact with his fellow troops on Wednesday during operational activity near Ramallah. He was not hurt and was escorted out of the village by residents. (Yoav Zitun)
