PLO condemns attack on UN chief's convoy

The Palestine Liberation Organization's Executive Committee has condemned the attack on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon's convoy during his visit to the Gaza Strip.

The PLO apologized to Ban "for the disgraceful behavior that goes against the Palestinian people's tradition." The group also expressed gratitude for the UN chief's support of Palestinian rights. Earlier, Palestinian protesters hurled rocks and shoes at the diplomats' armored vehicles. (Elior Levy)
