Katsav meets with wife for first time since jailed
Gila Katsav, four family members visit former president in prison for the first time since he was jailed for rape
Former President Moshe Katsav, who is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence for rape, met with his wife, Gila, and family members for the first time, Ynet learned Friday.
Family members went through the standard routine check upon their arrival at the prison. Subsequently they met with Katsav in the prison yard for 30 minutes.

The family visit became possible after Katsav and the Israel Prison Service reached an agreement over Katsav's ability to meet visitors without wearing the standard prison uniform. According to the agreement, Katsav will wear the IPS coat and not an orange jumpsuit when meeting visitors.
The IPS said: "We do not address our prisoner's visits' in order to maintain their privacy."
"Katsav is dealing with a very difficult reality", said Katsav's attorney, Zion Amir after meeting with him last Thursday.
