Fatah: Hamas proposed Abbas as head of interim government
Head of the Fatah delegation to the unity talks with Hamas, Azam al Ahmad said that the Hamas movement was the one that proposed to appoint Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as the head of the Palestinian interim government.
"The idea came up during a joint meeting with the emir of Qatar and was proposed by Hamas. Abbas immediately accepted it," said al Ahmad. (Elior Levy)
