Treasury offers additional NIS 200M to improve contract workers' terms
The Finance Ministry said it is prepared to allocate an additional NIS 200 million to improve the employment conditions and raise the salaries of cleaning staff employed as contract workers. The Histadrut is yet to accept the proposal.
The latest offer raises the sum that the Treasury is willing to allot towards improving the contract workers' employment terms to NIS 700 million. The talks between the ministry and the Histadrut are expected to last all night – a final effort to prevent the general strike that was scheduled for Wednesday. (Avital Lahav)
