Abbas: No discrepancy between peace process, Palestinian unity

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday that contrary to Prime Minister Netanyahu's statement, there is no contradiction between the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and the inter-Palestinian reconciliation deal.

In a meeting with US envoy to the Middle East David Hill, Abbas stressed that peace is a strategic priority for the Palestinians, while the reconciliation with Hamas is a national necessity. Abbas said that the PLO is committed to all agreenments, including the Road Map and other international resolutions. (Elior Levy)
