US sources claim Israel trained Iranian scientists' assassins
US sources are claiming that the People's Mujahidin of Iran is behind a series of assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists with funding and training by Israeli secret services. The sources told NBC News that the US was not involved in the hits.
The organization fought the Iranian monarchy in the 1960s and the Islamist regime in the 1980s. It moved its HQ to Iraq following the 1979 Islamic Revolution. It was claimed it provided the US with intelligence on Iran. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
