PM thanks outgoing chief justice for outstanding service

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has thanked outgoing Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch for her service on the court. "You've done it wonderfully, in a difficult time, withstanding criticism," he said in a speech before the Supreme Court justices.

"I think that the court's independence is inherent and necessary, and in Israel the court has always been and will remain independent," he added. (Moran Azulay)
