Israel's UN envoy: Assad has no right to lead

“(Syrian President Bashar) Assad has no moral right to lead his people,” Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor, said in a speech he delivered overnight Tuesday at a special meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

“The images of frightened women and children, helpless in the streets must be engraved in all our consciousnesses. The international community must act immediately to stop the systematic killing of children and innocent civilians,” he said. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
