Al-Jazeera: Mashaal avoided meeting with Assad

Hamas Politburo chief Khaled Mashaal avoided a meeting scheduled for him with Syrian President Bashar Assad, Al-Jazeera reported Wedensday.

According to the report, Mashaal met with the Syrian intelligence chief who informed him of the meeting last month, but chose to leave Damascus feeling the meeting would not be useful. (Elior Levy)
