Israel's most expensive estate to be built in Herzliya

British-Jewish billionaire's future $100 million estate will be most expensive private residence in the country

Jewish-British billionaire Alan Howard is planning to build the most expensive private residence in Israel, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

Howard's mega-estate is currently undergoing construction in Herzliya Pituach, and is estimated at $100 million. It will span across 2,500 sqm (approximately 26,909 sq ft).

Several plots of land have been allotted to the estate, which will then be converted into eight separate villas. The project is headed by renowned Israeli architect Orly Shrem.

Howard, who currently resides in London, owns the fourth largest hedge-fund in the world. His fortune is estimated at $1.8 billion.

Most of the plots intended for the mega-estate were purchased from Lenny Recanati in a deal that was considered to be the most expensive real-estate deal in 2006, leaving Howard with the largest single plot in Herzliya.
