Adored actress, who starred in famous French, British films, will visit Israel for first time as guest of honor in screening of documentary based on her life

Actress Charlotte Rampling, 66, adored by French and British audiences alike, will be the guest of honor at Israel's French film festival beginning in March. This will be her first visit to Israel.

The festival will include a special screening of "The Look," a documentary by Angelina Maccarone based on the actress' life and work.

This will be Rampling's first trip to Israel after a long and successful career both in British and French films, including her scandalous role in "The Night Porter" (1974), "Angel Heart" (1987), "Spy Games" (2001), "Sous Le Sable" (Under the Sun, 2000) and "Swimming Pool" (2003).

Most recently, Rampling started as the neurotic mother in Lars von Trier's Melancholia.

The festival will also include screenings of some Rampling's other films.

Directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano will make an appearance, as their widely anticipated film "Intouchables" ‏(Untouchable) will open the festival. This movie has been a tremendous success in France this past year as 19 million viewers rushed to see it in theaters.

The brothers David and Stephane Foenkinos, whose film "La Delicatesse" is set to close the festival, will also arrive for a visit.
