Transportation minister freezes 'open skies' deal
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz has instructed the Civil Aviation Authority to delay signing an agreement with the EU over the enactment of an "open skies" policy until the deal can be studied further.
Earlier, the Histadrut Labor Federation announced a labor dispute with the airlines El Al, Arkia and IsraAir following the decision to implement the policy, which would reduce restrictions on flights between EU countries and Israel, without negotiating the measure with the employees first.
