UN-Arab League envoy Annan has first talks on Syria

Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, now the new UN-Arab League envoy on Syria, was holding separate talks in Geneva on Monday with Iran's foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi and France's Alain Juppe, diplomats and UN officials said.

"He is meeting Salehi now and later on Juppe," a UN official told Reuters, relaying information from Annan's staff in Geneva, where the two foreign ministers were addressing the UN Human Rights Council. (Reuters)
