Sources at PM's bureau: Fuel tax unlikely to be reduced

Sources at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bureau said that it is unlikely that the fuel tax is to be reduced. Several ways to reduce the tax have been studied, "but no alternatives were found to offset the hundreds of millions of shekels that are lost when the price is dropped by 10 agorot," one source said.  

 

The Energy Ministry is set to raise the gas price to a record NIS 8 per liter on March 1, marking a 5.09% increase. (Attila Somfalvi)
