Netanyahu lowers petrol tax

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to lower the tax on petrol by 10 Agurot. Over the next few months the Finance Ministry will try to formulate proposals in a bid to find funding sources to handle the petrol price issue.

The decision means that one liter of 95 octane petrol will cost NIS 7.74 (self service). "The State does not control the global petrol prices but we don not need to charge a tax for each price hike," said Netanyahu. (Attila Somfalvi)
