Syria ready to discuss UN humanitarian chief's visit

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said it was ready to discuss allowing UN humanitarian aid chief Valerie Amos to visit the country.

The ministry said that the government previously refused to let Amos assess the need for humanitarian aid in the country due to a logistics issue. "We are ready to continue our discussions with her about a date convenient to both parties," the ministry said in a statement carried by state television. (AFP)
