EU: Syrian leadership will be held accountable
The European Union is debating the withdrawal of its envoys from Damascus and holding the Syrian leadership accountable for human rights violations against civilians.
The EU leaders, ending a two-day summit Friday, plan to reiterate their call for an end to "the massive violence and human rights abuses" by the Syrian military during the nearly year-old uprising against President Bashar Assad. The EU leaders said "those responsible will be held accountable." (AP)
