Cop charged with arms trafficking, transporting illegal immigrants
The Police Internal Investigations Department has indicted a police officer and a civilian for transporting illegal immigrants and conspiring to commit a crime. The cop was also charged with arms trafficking, bribery, fraud and breach of trust, among others.
A weeks-long covert investigation led to the defendants' arrest in late February. The prosecution has motioned the court to detain the two until the completion of the legal proceedings. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
