Turkey: Islamists burn US flag in Quran protest
More than 500 Turkish protesters from Islamist groups set ablaze an American flag to protest the recent Quran burnings at a US base in Afghanistan.
The protesters, holding a copy of the Muslim holy book over their heads, marched with torches and banners in Istanbul's downtown Taksim square Wednesday night, shouting slogans against the United States, NATO and Israel. (AP)
