Iran: Khamenei hails Obama's call to avoid strike

Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei has welcomed US President Barack Obama's statements against launching a strike on the Islamic Republic's controversial nuclear program.

Khamenei told other senior clerics that Obama's speech Tuesday "is a good speech" that indicates a departure from the "illusion" under which the US has been operating. (AFP)
