Al-Qaeda has confirmed the death of one of its commanders in Pakistan, saying he was killed in an American drone strike last month.
The US-based SITE monitoring service said on Friday that the confirmation came in a video statement released on an Internet forum. The video says Badr Mansoor was killed on Feb. 9 close to the Afghan border. He was alleged to have run a training camp for militants blamed for attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
