Hamas: Egypt proposes ceasefire in exchange for fuel
Senior Hamas spokesman Ahmed Yousef said that Europe and Egypt are engaged in efforts to secure a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinians and Israel. Yousef accused Israel of the military escalation, saying it was done in order “to avoid dealing with Israel’s political problems in the international arena.”
Meanwhile, Hamas parliament member Younis al-Astel claimed that Egyptian intelligence officials handed a proposal to the Hamas government by which Egypt will supply Gaza with solar and fuel in exchange for a ceasefire. (Elior Levy)
