Bamba Baby won't be Israel’s official Olympic symbol

The Olympic Committee and Osem Investments Ltd. announced that they have reversed the decision to select the Bamba Baby – a chubby cartoon toddler that adorns the package of the popular peanut butter snack – as the official mascot of Israeli athletes in the upcoming London Olympics.

Earlier, Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat urged the Olympic Committee to reconsider its decision, claiming the Israeli public would not approve of a commercial symbol as an official mascot. (Ynet)
