Hamas sources: No reconciliation with Fatah in 2012

Hamas sources estimated that the reconciliation agreement between the Islamic faction and its Palestinian rival Fatah will not be completed this year, despite the declaration of principles signed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal in Doha.

The sources told Palestinian news agency Maan that the recent security situation in Gaza has prevented the two factions from meeting, adding that the Egyptians were working to coordinate a meeting in the near future. (Elior Levy)
